History

Waldzell is known for its outstanding, interdisciplinary dialogues. The role model for these dialogues is Hermann Hesse’s novel ‘The Glass Bead Game’. In this book, a number of gifted people from different disciplines come together once a year in order to create a universal artwork, resulting from their interdisciplinary dialogues. This work of art should contribute to the spiritual development of humankind.

Waldzell’s aim is to breathe life into the book’s legendary myth and with the Waldzell Meetings it was able to attract a number of renowned people from business, science, the arts and spirituality for this idea, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Paulo Coelho, Isabel Allende, Frank Gehry, Christo and Jeanne-Claude as well as numerous Nobel Prize Laureates.
