The mission of the Waldzell Institute is to make the quest for a
meaningful life a chief concern of our society. This search for meaning
is being dealt with at three levels: that of the individual, of
organizations and companies, and of the entire mankind.
The Waldzell Institute aspires to acquire extraordinary personages and their knowledge and wisdom for implementing concrete projects concerned with the spiritual and mental development of mankind. The purpose of Waldzell will be to send out impulses, which contribute to the lasting spiritual development of an increased number of people living in harmony with their pursuit for spiritual development, and organizations becoming more successful and socially responsible.
"Waldzell" is a fictitious place in Hermann Hesse's The Glass Bead Game where selected people, the "Glass Bead Players," once a year create a total work of art, which is intellectual and aware. Its effect reaches far beyond the circle of players and essentially contributes to the further spiritual development of society.
